RKL Poaches Someone From BDO and Issues a Press Release, Part I

When the 61st ranked accounting firm in the nation steals someone away from a firm like BDO, it’s kinda newsworthy. Well, newsworthy enough for a slow Wednesday late afternoon in early December. And newsworthy enough for RKL that it warranted a press release:

RKL LLP announced that Michael T. McAllister, CPA, CITP, CISA, has joined the firm as leader of its IT Audit Services Practice.

As head of RKL’s IT Audit Services Practice, McAllister is focused on strengthening internal controls for clients in a variety of industries and implementing comprehensive risk management across their full technology infrastructure. McAllister and his team deploy a number of solutions to achieve these goals, including information technology internal audits; IT governance, revaluation and design; System and Organization Control (SOC) services; and QA/IV&V (Quality Assurance, Independent Verification and Validation) engagements.

McAllister brings more than 24 years of IT and assurance experience to his new role, including deep expertise delivering SOC services for various types of entities, ranging from national service bureaus, financial institutional support entities and data hosting services. A Certified Public Accountant licensed in Pennsylvania, McAllister is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He holds the Certified Information Technology Professional (CITP) and Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) credentials.

Michael McAllister

M2 spent a little over six years at Bravo Delta Oscar in Pennsylvania, and before that, he spent a handful of years at ParenteBeard.

We don’t know if McAllister was a part of this, but you might remember back in June 2013 when 12 partners and 90-some employees of ParenteBeard’s banking practice bolted for BDO.

McAllister joined BDO from ParenteBeard in July 2013, according to his LinkedIn page.
