Let’s *Try* to Have a Civil Discussion About Accounting Program Rankings

Every year, U.S. News & World Report bestows their storied list of best Colleges and Universities. It's a great opportunity to show school pride (unless you're a Penn State alum) or to make snide remarks because you went to a TTT and are mad with envy. Because we know that discussing loaded rankings such as these are something you wait all year for, it would be a mistake for us not to indulge you.

Please keep in mind that these rankings are for the Graduate level (i.e. MBA with an accounting emphasis), so don't get all huffy when the Ivies make appearances, mmmkay? You'll just have to accept the fact that your school simply isn't up to par. It should also be noted that we're only listing eleven schools of the thirty-four because U.S. News likes to charge for the esteemed pleasure of viewing the ranking in full. This, of course, is dumb. But enough already. Here you go:

11. University of California – Berkeley (Haas)

10. University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill (Kenan-Flager)

9. BYU (Marriott)

8. NYU (Stern)

7. Univsersity of Southern California (Marshall)

6. University of Michigan – Ann Arbor (Ross)

5. Stanford

4. University of Illinois – Urbana-Champaign

3. University of Pennsylvania (Wharton)

2. University of Chicago (Booth)

1. University of Texas (McCombs)
