Hiring Watch ’12 and Beyond: KPMG Chicago Wants You

It's obvious that Rahm Emanuel loves accounting firms (certainly more than teachers). Either that, or he knows he can curse them into submitting to his policies for job creation in the city. KPMG is the latest firm to make announcement in coordination with the Mayor's office; The HoK will be hiring 500 new employees over the next five years:

The new positions at the big professional services firm will expand its Chicago staff by about a third. The firm now has 1,800 partners and employees here — the second largest KPMG office in the country, and up more than 400 since 2010.
Chicago OMP Pat Canning seems optimistic, "We see tremendous opportunity in Chicago to grow our business, assisting business leaders in growing their top line, transforming their operations and complying with a changing regulatory environment." As does Hizzoner, "KPMG has benefited from the world-class talent and quality of Chicago's employees for years and sees Chicago's growing strategic importance."
