John Boehner Is the Most Reasonable, Responsible Person in Washington, Says John Boehner

The other day, Speaker of the Hizzous John Boehner got a lot of people got lot of people hot and bothered when he said that Republicans were "willing to accept new revenue, under the right conditions.” For some odd reason, these people – including Senators Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and Kent Conrad (D-ND) – thought that meant that he had burned up his Burning Tree membership card, was applying to his local pipefitters union, and would finally be down with higher taxes on the wealthy. NOT THE CASE. John Boehner is definitely not DOWN:

Raising tax rates is "unacceptable" to House Speaker John Boehner as he prepares to open negotiations on the looming "fiscal cliff" with the president and congressional Democrats, he told "World News" anchor Diane Sawyer today in an exclusive interview. "Raising tax rates is unacceptable," Boehner, R-Ohio, said in his first broadcast interview since the election Tuesday. "Frankly, it couldn't even pass the House. I'm not sure it could pass the Senate."

But you know what? John will listen to you. Just pass him one of those Camels, that lighter and he'll be all ears:

"Of course, we'll talk about it. We talk about all kinds of things we may disagree on," Boehner said. "I'm the most reasonable, responsible person here in Washington. The president knows it. He knows that he and I can work together. The election's over. Now it's time to get to work."

That's just the type of guy he is.
