Grant Thornton Admits 50 New Partners

Grant Thornton deified 50 new partners on August 1st, according to a firm press release.

This year's class size dwarfs those from recent years; there were 32 new partners admitted in 2014, 30 in 2013, 27 in 2012, 26 in 2011 and 22 in 2010.

Purple Rose of Chicago CEO Mike McGuire heaps on the praise:

“Our partners, principals and managing directors have consistently demonstrated long-term leadership in both the profession and their communities, and they have provided tremendous value to our clients, as well as to our firm. These promotions highlight Grant Thornton’s commitment to building a healthy, high-performance culture, which goes hand in hand with supporting the career development of our leaders at all levels across the firm.”

It's also worth mentioning that there are 29 new managing directors.

There aren't a lot of details in the press release but by my count, the line-of-service breakdown is 11 tax, 24 audit and 15 advisory. We've contacted a Grant Thornton spokesperson for more class dynamics including gender, diversity, advanced degrees and whatever else they've got on these people so we'll update the post if we hear back.

For now let's congratulate these new partners and MDs. May their careers be free of independence snafus and bench slaps.
