BKD Poaches Someone From Deloitte and Issues a Press Release, Part I

Longtime Deloitte Financial Advisory Services employee Jim Jordon is now teammates with Kate and Ben at BKD.

Jim Jordon

Jordon was recently brought onboard as a managing director in BKD’s Forensics & Valuation Services division. He will be based in Houston.

In his new role at the House of Dickman, Jordon will focus on assisting BKD’s energy and private funds clients with their transaction- and valuation-related needs, as well as clients’ valuation needs in various other industries, according to a press release.

Here’s a little more about JJ’s background:

Jordon has more than 20 years of experience providing business valuations for financial reporting, intellectual property, buy-sell agreements, federal tax and other regulatory purposes. His engagements have included assisting in both buy- and sell-side advisory, transaction structuring, debt capacity analysis and valuation studies. Jordon has been qualified as an expert witness involving valuation and mergers and acquisitions issues, including testifying and preparing expert reports used in state, federal and the International Court of Justice jurisdictions. His experience encompasses several industries, including energy and natural resources, chemicals, manufacturing and distribution and health care.

Before joining BKD, Jordon was a managing director at an international accounting firm, where he worked in valuation and transaction advisory services. Jordon also has been the managing editor of a nationally recognized business valuation publication and transaction database.

That publication is Business Valuation Update, published by Business Valuation Resources in Portland, OR, where Jordon worked for nearly two years before moving to D-town in 1999. He was a senior manager in Deloitte’s Houston Financial Advisory Services practice.

And it looks like the Houston Astros are his favorite baseball squadron:

Jordon is a Chartered Financial Analyst and member of the CFA Institute and CFA Society of Houston, where he is a past president and current advisory board member. He also was a founding board member of CFA Societies of Texas. In addition, Jordon is an accredited senior appraiser and a member of the American Society of Appraisers.
