I recently interviewed for a experienced hire tax position at a Big 4 after tax season. However, I was told that I was not going to be hired due to a “headcount issue.” Basically, is a “headcount issue” a euphemism for not being liked? Or is there really a headcount issue and there is a possibility that I could get hired in the future? What does the recruiter say to you if you are not seen as good fit by your interviewers?
