Video footage, no less.
If there was ever a time to get Hans Hoogervorst to run around IASB HQ naked, this would be it.
Back in November, the IASB threw out this Accounting Standards Advisory Forum idea that would allow a dozen national rulemaking bodies to get together and talk fancy about debits and credits. Basically, an accounting cool club.
We don't have an official headcount for this particular IFRS rally, but it's our understanding that at least one person's attendance was a complete coincidence.
This morning we learned that the ICAEW gave up, refusing to go along with the lie that the IASB has been telling itself all this time -- "They'll call. They'll realize that they've been wasting their time with U.S. GAAP all this time and they'll call."
I know. What the hell? Isn't IFRS a predetermined given like Avengers 2 and Kardashian divorces?
We all should have noticed this immediately.
He's also willing to speak louder if that helps.
Someone's feeling ignored.
Someone in Brussels needs a muzzle.
