This One Chart Tells You Everything You Need to Know About Diversity in the Accounting Profession

So, we're working on a somewhat involved piece — which we'll debut later in the month — on diversity and socioeconomic barriers to the profession.

In our research, we turned to the 2013 Trends in the Supply of Accounting Graduates and the Demand for Public Accounting Recruits report, which is chock-full of all kinds of interesting information. Including the following chart:

As the text says, this chart shows you partner demographics by firm size (duh). That 90% of all CPA firm partners are white isn't all that surprising, but at the 10-49 level, we find 100% white partners. 100%!

As we already know, 19% of accounting firm partners are women, meaning that the white guy stereotype at the partner level does live on. It's right there in the chart, can't miss it.
