Listen to a Fake IRS Agent Try Telling Ex-Crazy Eddie CFO He's About to Be Arrested

Perhaps you have heard of some very ambitious (and stupid) scammers posing as IRS agents who have been relentlessly threatening honest Americans with jail if they don't pay up immediately. Today, those scammers called the wrong former CPA.

Considering the fact that Sam Antar didn't do any time for the Crazy Eddie fraud, you can see why the lovable convicted felon, former tax evader and money launderer might have been skeptical when randos with strong Indian accents rang him up today and told him due to "errors" on his tax returns, a warrant was out for his arrest and the cops were on the way. Local cops. Because, you know, local cops totally come arrest you if you're in trouble with the IRS.

Lucky for all of us, Sam recorded the call. Note this audio is raw and unedited except for two instances of Sam's address which we cut for his privacy.

Note to scammers: you should probably put Sam Antar on your Do Not Call list.

Note to everyone else: the IRS does not call you, and they certainly don't call you from an Indian call center. If you see 904-290-3381 on the caller ID as Sam did, it's probably a scammer. Should you like to have a little fun with them, make sure to record the call (and, since you are an honest, law-abiding citizen, tell the caller you are recording) and send it our way.
