Over the last year or so, we've noticed a tug o' war between KPMG and PwC in the "competitive poaching" arena with PwC doing most of the tugging. Some people might go so far to say that KPMG is the training ground for future PwC starters - a Triple-A for CPAs, if you will.
The news of KPMG partners and directors being called up has died down recently, so it appears that any competitive poaching successes are being kept on the DL. At least on the side of PwC.
KPMG, on the other hand, will take victories where they can get them. Snagging some PwC audit clients. Setting the bar in PCAOB inspection quality. Phil's blue hat. And today, we learn that another small battle - but maybe the biggest to date for the HoK - has been won and it called for a little announcement:
KPMG International has appointed Brian Bannister to the newly created post of Head of Global Communications, based in London, UK. Mr. Bannister will join KPMG in December from PwC, where he served for the past five years as UK Director of Communications. He has more than 20 years of experience as a senior corporate communications adviser, including 12 years in the professional services arena. Rachel Campbell, KPMG Global Head of People, Performance and Culture commented: "I'm delighted that Brian is joining our organization in this new global role. He joins a strong team and I look forward to working with him to continue to build KPMG's profile in the market." Mr. Bannister said: "I am excited at the opportunity to join KPMG and very impressed by the firm's growth and development plans. I'm also looking forward to working with KPMG's very talented marketing and communications teams."
