It Will Soon Be a Little Cheaper to Take the CPA Exam in California

Good news, California CPA exam candidates! Even though taxes are up, gas is up, food prices are up and you'll soon have to start importing your water in from Minnesota, you're going to get a break on CPA exam fees:

The CBA announced a temporary reduction in CPA Exam application fees for a two-year period effective July 1, 2014 and ending June 30, 2016. This fee reduction applies only to CPA Exam fees, not to the CPA Exam section fees paid directly to NASBA. Please refer to the fee schedule below.

Effective July 1, 2014:

  • $50 - Initial Application Fee
  • $25 - Reapplication Fee

The old fee schedule was $100/$50. Also reduced: initial licensure fees, biennial renewal fees, license application fees, and fees for registration as a partnership or corporation.  Woohoo, free money!
