Here’s Your Open Thread for PwC Compensation Discussions (2016)

June marks the beginning of compensation season and, as usual, we'll start with PwC.

Will all the blood, sweat, tears and paper cuts you've endured for the last 12 months be worth it? Will the anticipation of reaching the salary figure you've fixated on for the past year become a reality? Will disappointment follow in a day? A week? A month? Everyone's experience is different but, rest assured, all of them are welcome here.

We started receiving tips last Wednesday and the pace of them has steadily increased through this morning. Here's a sampling:

where's the thread for pwc 2016 comp? conversations have already started

PwC comp thread should probably drop, find out mine today

When will you post PwC compensation watch? I believe they have been announced.

PwC Comp Discussions started last Wednesday. Can we get an open thread?

I wish PwC issued Oscar envelopes to all of its employees with their new compensation. I think that would give the process a fun level of sanctimony that it currently lacks. Then those disappointed with their new salary and/or lack of bonus could show post videos of themselves ripping up the envelopes to social media.

If you're new (or forgotten how fussy the GC peanut gallery can be), please share as much information as possible when discussing the results of your conversation. Here are some suggested details:

  • Position, promotion (if applicable)
  • City (region is not informative) & Line of Service
  • % Raise
  • % Bonus (if any)
  • Old & New Base

If I'm not mistaken, PwC did away with "ratings" in the traditional sense however, if they're still giving you a grade or a label or something similar, feel free to share that too.

Enjoy yourselves, PwC! The rest of the accounting world is counting on you to get this compensation season off to a good start.
