Future ‘Digital CPAs’ Will Make the Most of Bathroom Breaks Thanks to AICPA’s New CPA Exam App

Put down the Fruit Ninja, folks, the AICPA has a new app for you to play with.

Yesterday, the AICPA announced the launch of two new mobile apps: an iPad app for Journal of Accountancy and an interactive CPA exam aid that works on Apple and Android devices.

"One of the most exciting developments in our profession is the rise of 'Digital CPAs,' practitioners who are using technology to transform the way they serve clients," said AICPA President and CEO Barry C. Melancon, CPA, CGMA. "We are committed to providing our members the right guidance and tools to make that transition."

The free CPA exam app syncs up with the user's This Way to CPA account (so yes, you have to register if you want to use it). It includes a personal timeline, tips and a link to This Way To CPA's online forum so you can commiserate with your fellow candidates on the go. "We developed the CPA Exam Aid with the idea of making it as easy as possible for candidates to get the info they need to plan for the exam, get certified and begin their careers," said Scott Moore, AICPA senior manager – college and university initiatives. "The exam is very challenging, but we've made managing your study time a lot easier."
