Another Rothstein Kass Refugee Has Fled the Land of KPMG

It's been a bit since we've covered the comings and goings of Rothstein Kass refugees making their way in the post-KPMG acquisition world. Some of them have broken off and formed their own offices. Others are undoubtedly sticking around.

For 14 year RK veteran Matthew Anderson, it was Door #1:

Fort Worth-based Weaver is expanding to the West Coast with the opening of an office in Los Angeles. Matthew Anderson joins Weaver as an audit partner and will launch the firm’s California practice.

“Our expansion into California marks a critical milestone in Weaver’s strategic plan to extend the reach of the firm’s financial services practice,” said Tommy D. Lawler, Weaver’s managing partner and CEO. “Partnering Matt’s experience dedicated to financial services with Weaver’s existing talent and capabilities in the industry enables us to deliver top-notch service and industry expertise to the many investment companies based on the West Coast.”

Previously, Anderson was partner in charge at RK's Denver office from 2003 – 2009. Prior to that, he did time at both Ernst & Young and PwC.

In 2009, Anderson left Colorado to join RK's newly-opened Orange County office. At the time, then co-managing Principal Steve Kass said: “Our 'one firm, one floor' philosophy assures that Matt will continue to be a resource to our clients in Denver and across the nation.”

Yeah, no.
